Frank Deco is an interior design company with a focus on renovations and new constructions in Stockholm. Hanna Larsson, 31 years old, is an interior designer and the company's founder.
I help the customer with, among other things, select the material, design of kitchen and bathroom, colors, and of course with stucco. If the customer wishes, I can also take the whole assignment together with professional craftsmen as a project. When assigned with large projects, I work closely with the customer intensively for several months. My aim is not only to "hand over" a satisfactory result or a finalized project, but also for the customer to have a safe and a fun journey on the way to the finishing! I hold a great deal of respect for the fact that my job is someone else’s home and dream.
Hanna has recently completed a renovation project in an older property in Vasastan/Norrmalm. There, the owners dreamed of a stylish and exclusive home that would feel cozy and welcoming at the same time. .
I was hired last fall to help with an incredible number of choices during a renovation. Among other things, we have opened load-bearing walls, installed a new kitchen, walk in closet, laid floors, re-routed electricity, put up wall moldings, ceiling stumps, ceiling rosettes, cornices and painted walls, ceilings and carpentry. The color selections are sober with dark contrasts, and the materials are a mix of stone, brass and wood. the textiles and stucco played a major role in order to achieve the dream picture, and it was also important to take advantage of the house's architecture while inserting some modern elements.

In the apartment there are ceiling moldings set up as a cornish. A cornice is a molding mounted a bit from the wall to hide the curtain brackets. The effect gives a sensational feeling of a hotel room. There are several different ways to create a cornice. The easiest way is to choose a ready-made cornish strip from the category "Cornices" on the website. These moldings have a wide surface at the top that is glued to the ceiling. Many of these variants are also adapted to easily add led lighting.
But sometimes you want a different type of strips than the ready-made cornice strips variants that are available; for instance, some more decorated ones. Then it is important to give the roof molding something new to combine with (as the wall, which you usually glue the bar to) is no longer available to use! An easy way to solve this is to set up a regel. The regel should be attached to the ceiling, and after that one needs only to glue the roof strip to the regel. Keep in mind that the regel should be slightly shorter than the roof strip so that it does not stand out and is visible the roof strip.

In this project, the customer asked for double curtains which require double curtain rails. The rails are inserted inside the roof strip and the distance between the wall and window depends on how much fabric you should have, and whether you should have one or two curtain rails. We needed 30 centimeters for rails and curtains. When you measure the positioning of the cornice and curtain rails, pay attention to deep window sills or elemental protection that stand out from the wall. One wants the curtains to fall freely to the floor. We also set up led trips to create a stylish lighting.
