Modern materials give us many options to recreate, repair, and decorate stunning rooms of old times, and with more ease! Originally, stucco was made by craftsmen carving patterns in wood. Years later, it became increasingly common to make industrial production of stucco in plaster. But these were very heavy and difficult to assemble! In the early 1960s, people developed and manufactured stucco in polyurethane, which is lighter, easier to mount, and way cheaper.
Corner mouldings are made of polyurethane, a shock- and water-resistant material with a mirror-smooth paintable surface that allows even the finest details to appear clearly. The material is sandable, and easy to process with ordinary hand tools when installing. Polyurethane can also be used outdoors, and when cleaning, the material withstands moisture and most solvents.
The assembly of mouldings and corners is quite simple, but there are some important things to keep in mind! Use standard hand tools for sawing, grinding and machining before assembly. When mounted with glue, the superfluous glue should be immediately wiped off with water or mild soap solution. When the mouldings are set up and you have closed the gaps with latex joints, you may then paint over the mouldings to make them blend in with the ceiling or wall.
