Setting up cornices can be very simple; however, there are some important things to keep in mind! Regardless of your chosen material, you might need to saw some parts to make them fit your design. Read further about the set up under Instructions.
Today's modern materials allow us to recreate or redesign home interiors, and even restoring historical and rich architectural features and unique layouts that might have been worn out. Instead of carving patterns out of wood or plaster, today's stuccos are manufactured using easier, cheaper, faster, and more environmentally friendly polyurethane and styrofoam.
A Polyurethane cornice is made of a shock and water resistant material, which allows its painting to reveal its surface with the finest details and curves. The material is sandable and easy to process with standard hand tools when installing. The cornices can also be used outdoors, and when cleaning, the material can withstand moisture and most solvents; however, the surface should be painted to be protected from the UV rays. Polyurethane cornices are considered to be the best material - they are both impact-resistant and can withstand all types of paints.
Styrofoam mouldings made of polystyrene are material of best economical choice. The mouldings are easily set up with latex joints, and can only withstand water-based paint. Stucco glue is available to order under Accessories.
